Chikankari Artisans Are Getting Only 10% of The Entire Value

Estimates shows the number of Chikankari artisans in Lucknow and nearby areas runs in 250,000 and more, yet the Chikankari Artisans are remain living on mercy of Government with no medical insurance and social security. Chikan Artisans who are delivering very fine embroidery to many top internationally recognized designers like Manish Malhotra, Tarun Tahiliani and many others are unfortunately the most neglected lots. People involve in selling the hand embroidered apparels are making a lot of money but artisans are yet to receive their rights.  The talent of Chikan hand embroidery is depleting every single day.
